@ all that ask how i made it, im not 100% sure anymore but the earth has ~5 rendered layers with 8k earth map and a nightmap a few falloff maps, composited in ps, can be that the atmo is a combo of ps glow and rendered 3d atmo, cloud map is composed of a few sky photos. the starmap i still dont like :D and at the cloud layer is still something to fix.. i hate textures that dont fit on spheres :D
i think the raytracing shadows from the cloud map did a good job

btw the water is a shader.

Most beautiful and fragile christmas bulb of our solar system. The only focus in this picture is the earth. It should remember everybody, and it doesn't matter if you are celebrating christmas or anything else, we all live on the same little sphere. Appreciate life as a whole and our planet will appreciate you! ( Featured by `taenaron )

Wow! You can practically see it revolving. It's a cool illusion.

And I'm surprised this isn't just a regular space photo. It's so real it's hyperreal. And it looks wonderfully solid in a way pictures of Earth don't often look.
